THE SCANNAN EXHIBITION 2024 The Chuck Gallery Manchester

What do you do when tragedy leads to a series of events so bizarre that you begin to question your own sanity?

The visual side of Scannan had yet to be told. The time for that telling is now.

What do you do when you begin to see and hear things other people can’t? Where you begin to witness a world in which the boundaries of life and death are obscured, and dominated by a powerful presence? When you find yourself in the company of those who march to the beat of a different drum?

This part of my story begins in 2000, when I co-wrote a book called Scannan, a paranormal psychological thriller. The book tells the story of a man who descends into madness after his business partner commits suicide. It’s centred amongst the cluster of marketing companies based around Manchester. The idea for it came to me in a series of dreams. Since its publication, however, I’ve had the feeling that a large part of the story was missing.

AmbiguousArt is food for the imagination. What you start off seeing isn’t always what you end up thinking. And don’t be surprised if, each time you look at one of the images, you see something you hadn’t seen before. Or think of something you hadn’t thought of before.

Using the digital skills I have honed over the years, I will a create a unique exhibition which gradually explores  the Scannan trilogys and the story of how it was finally brought to life.
